1 Hour Group Sessions: $35 (when appropriate)
30 Minute Sessions: $25
THOR is a registered 501c3 charity, and we will provide a tax receipt upon request. Our clients are always appreciative of support and we are currently focused on these needs:
SCHOLARSHIPS: Rider scholarships are available in blocks of 6 and 12 weeks of one-on-one EAAT therapy sessions.
Our riders come from all backgrounds and areas. We are committed to providing outstanding equine assisted therapy to both adults and children from any economic bracket. Unfortunately, sometimes people with special situations have additional needs that must be paid for immediately (like prescriptions, diet needs or medical devices) and EAAT sessions are put on hold due to family budget constraints.
By providing a scholarship for a special needs rider, you ensure that rider gets his or her therapy sessions when times are tough. We would LOVE to provide you with your sponsored riders photos, updates and more via text or email as their therapy continues. Call us today at 760.371.5817, and we'll set it up.
6 Session Scholarship: $270
12 Session Scholarship $540
EQUINE SPONSORSHIPS: Therapy horses are vital to our mission, and very few horses have what it takes to be a therapy animal. Our horses must be PERFECT in temperament and kept in optimal health as well. Often, therapy horses are seniors, because it takes many years and miles to create a quiet, super-safe horse. The average cost to maintain a therapy horse including feed, water, farrier visits, veterinary, dental, chiropractic and more is roughly $3,000 per year or $250 per month. We welcome both individual and corporate sponsors! Again, if you'd like photos, updates or any information about the horses you're sponsoring just let us know and we'd love to share!
1 Month Equine Sponsorship: $350
OTHER NEEDS: We realize that many of our supporters have huge hearts but might not be able to swing an entire scholarship or sponsorship. We would ask you to consider these smaller donations:
Helmets: $100 (Helmets MUST be replaced every 6 years, and we need to keep a variety of sizes on hand at all times)
General Fund: $any amount$ During the course of our day, we use a variety of consumable items such as fly spray, shampoo & conditioner, horse treats, topical creams, and more. A donation of any amount can help us keep our tack & supply kits stocked.
Thank you for considering a donation to THOR!
THOR -Equine Assisted Activities & Therapy
EAAT- Equine Assisted Activities & Therapy at THOR - Offering independence for people with disabilities, located in Ridgecrest, CA.
Equine Assisted Activities & Therapy (also known as EAAT, and Hippotherapy) is suitable for many types of individuals with special and unique needs. Our head trainer Candee Coffee is fully certified by PATH International. Our clients come from all over the high desert and represent a wide variety of situations. We are fully trained & prepared to assist individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism spectrum, PTSD, emotional challenges and more.
EAAT sessions are enjoyable! Therapy sessions don't feel like doctor visits or physical therapy appointments. Our sessions have a fun and recreational atmosphere. Clients and their families have said that our sessions feel like an escape from clinical therapy. We believe that our peaceful outdoor setting amongst the livestock is therapy in itself. Family members and care givers enjoy themselves too. First sessions are one-on-one and by appointment only, which allows for the trainer and client to work closely in an appropriately planned setting. We have seen our clients develop physically, emotionally and relationally after participating!
